North American Estate

North American, Deceased Estate Rebuild

Found on eBay, the seller's late father had repaired violins in his retirement. This was part of the workshop estate sale. There was no label.  Estimate early twentieth century factory model.

The back was separate and in two pieces, the neck was detached, and the fingerboard off, and splintered.

The work done to restore this instrument included:

  • full clean, inside and exterior
  • reunite the back halves
  • reinstate the back
  • clean and refit the neck
  • shape and fit new fingerboard and nut
  • new soundpost and bridge
  • furnish with new pegs, strings, chin-rest, tailpiece and gut, adjusters.
It has a nice, clear sound, and would suit an advanced student.

Please contact me if you are interested in this instrument.
